Elton Maddox Jr., DDS

Dr. Elton P. Maddox, Jr., D.D.S the son of Elton and Virginia Maddox, is a native of Kingston (Somerset County), MD. Dr. Maddox is a graduate of Woodson High School (Crisfield, MD), Class of 1964. He is also an honors graduate of both Morgan State College (Now University) and the University of Maryland Dental School (Baltimore), where he became the first african-american to graduate in the school's history. He then completed an internship at Provident Hospital and further study at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. 

He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Dental School for three years before returning to the Eastern Shore to begin his private general practice. In addition, he pursues an interest in forensic dentistry consulting. He is a member of the American Dental Association, The Maryland State Dental Association, and the Eastern Shore Dental Society where he has served as president. 

He is a member of Waters Chapel Methodist Church in Kingston and Delta Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Dr. Maddox is a former board member of O.U.R Community and 100 Good Men. He is an original member of the Wicomico County Mentoring Project, a volunteer in the Wicomico County elementary schools, and is involved in many other community organizations.

Members of University of Maryland School of Dentistry SNDA will be at the event to answer any quesitons about preparing for dental school.  

Andrea Morgan, DDS

Dr. Andrea M. Morgan received a BA degree in Psychology in 1985 from the University of Michigan. She is a 1990 alumnus of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She completed a two year General Practice Residency at the University of Detroit/Mercy in 1992. Dr. Morgan began her teaching career at the UMSOD in 1992 as a part-time faculty member in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Operative Dentistry. She has served on the Admissions. Student Affairs, and the Quest for Care Committees. She was also involved in the Faculty Advisor Program; she was an advisor for the dental school classes of 2002 and 2006. She has twice received a teaching award given by the dental students; The Russell A. Gigliotti Memorial Award. This award is given to the faculty member who demonstrates dedication for the advancement of the art of dentistry and invaluable service to the dental student as exemplified by Russell Gigliotti. In 2005, she joined the Office of Admissions as the Dental Recruitment Coordinator. In 2011 she joined the Office of Academics and Student Affairs as the Director of Student Advocacy and Cultural Affairs. Her passion is to recruit and mentor students in the dental program. She is married with two children.
